By downloading, installing, or using TileBuddy ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

TileBuddy is a scoring companion app for Hong Kong Mahjong. It provides score tracking, faan calculation, an AI-powered tile scanner, a hand reference wiki, and game history. TileBuddy is not a mahjong game — it is a utility to assist with scoring during real games.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use TileBuddy. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement.

4. Free Use & Features

TileBuddy is free to download and use. The core features — score tracker, wiki, faan calculator, and game history — are available at no cost. The AI tile scanner includes a daily free limit of 4 scans per day. We reserve the right to modify feature availability or introduce paid features in the future with reasonable notice.

5. AI Tile Scanner

The AI tile scanner uses image recognition to identify mahjong tiles and calculate faan scores. While we strive for accuracy, AI recognition is not guaranteed to be 100% correct. You are responsible for verifying scan results. TileBuddy is not liable for scoring disputes arising from scanner inaccuracies.

All content, design, graphics, and code in TileBuddy are owned by TileBuddy and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Mahjong tile designs and game rules are part of the public domain and are not claimed as proprietary.

Your use of TileBuddy is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle your data. By using the App, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

TileBuddy is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TileBuddy and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to incorrect score calculations, data loss, or service interruptions.

11. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.
